We also prescribe it, depending on the situation, for other joints such as the shoulder, wrist, hip and ankle. The cause differs by site, so we adjust the prescription after examination; in cases such as a rotator cuff tear or severe nerve compression, imaging and an orthopaedic assessment come first.

Q. Can young people take Gwanjeoldan?

A.

Yes — those who exercise heavily or work in jobs with repetitive joint stress can take it preventively even when young. Early management slows degenerative changes effectively.

📝 Detailed Answer

You can take it, but for younger people we generally recommend something else first.

Joint pain at a young age more often has posture, repetitive movement, lack of muscle strength and overuse as its background than degenerative change. In such cases changing the cause takes priority over medicine.

If you exercise a great deal, checking the way you move and your recovery time comes first; if the burden is occupational, looking at your working posture and the way you rest comes first.

We do not recommend taking it over a long period for 'preventive purposes'. It is better to take it, after examination, only for the period needed, when there are symptoms.

If the pain recurs or there is swelling, confirming the cause comes first.
