More is not always better

Gongjindan is a highly concentrated herbal medicine, and its effect is maximized when taken in the right amount at the right time. Indiscriminate long-term use may instead generate excessive heat in the body.

Dosage guide by situation

  • Acute fatigue recovery: 1 pill per day, 7 to 14 days — for business trips, overwork, or right after exams
  • Building stamina foundation: 1 pill daily or 1 pill every other day, 4 to 8 weeks — for chronic fatigue or exam preparation
  • Regular maintenance: 5 to 10 pills per month, around each season change — for those vulnerable to seasonal transitions

How to take it

Taking it on an empty stomach in the morning with warm water gives the highest absorption rate. The aromatic components of musk (Moschus) are absorbed quickly through the gastrointestinal tract and promote whole-body circulation. Taking it after meals is also possible, but the perceived effect may be slightly slower.

Caution is needed for the following

  • Heat-prone constitution: Those whose face flushes easily or who frequently get canker sores — prescription adjustment is needed
  • During colds or acute inflammation: Treatment takes priority over tonics — take Gongjindan after the cold has resolved
  • Pregnant women: Musk components may have effects, so professional consultation is essential
  • Those taking blood pressure medication: Deer antler (Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum) may have a pressor effect, so blood pressure monitoring should be done concurrently
