For acute dermatitis we recommend 2 to 4 weeks, and for chronic conditions such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis 3 to 6 months or longer. Including constitutional improvement it can take longer still, and we adjust the treatment plan as things progress.

Q. Do you also guide diet?

A.

Yes, skin conditions are closely linked to diet. We guide aggravating foods (wheat flour, dairy, oily food) and constitution-matched diet during consultation.

📝 Detailed Answer

We do advise on it. However, we do not give a uniform list of prohibitions.

Many people look at a list of 'foods bad for the skin' and restrict a number of things, but restriction without grounds creates nutritional imbalance and lowers quality of life. It is particularly harmful to a growing child.

The way to check it in practice is a record. If you write down for about two weeks what you ate and how things went a few hours later, your own trigger foods become visible. Even where a test is positive, it is often actually fine.

What we generally recommend is about this much: reducing excessive sugar and alcohol, and eating regularly and in variety.

If food allergy is suspected, testing at a dermatology or allergy clinic is the order. Please do not restrict on your own judgement.
