In many cases they can be taken together, but you must tell us what you are currently taking. Psychiatric medication, however, is dangerous to reduce or stop on your own. Only the psychiatrist who prescribed it can decide on dose changes, and we do not advise it.

Q. How long does herbal treatment take?

A.

Acute stress reaction: 2–4 weeks. Chronic insomnia/anxiety: 1–3 months. Depression/panic disorder: 3–6+ months. Prescriptions are adjusted based on progress; gradually improving with Western medicine in parallel.

📝 Detailed Answer

In this field viewing it in units of months is usual.

Physical symptoms such as sleep and digestion often show change within a few weeks. By contrast, mood or anxiety itself takes longer to settle.

We do not use the first prescription unchanged to the end. Early on the focus is on the hardest symptom, and once it settles the direction shifts towards maintenance. We adjust while watching the course at two- to four-week intervals.

If while taking it drowsiness is severe, or sleep actually will not come, or digestion becomes uncomfortable, please tell us. It is a sign that adjustment is needed.

Where you are also taking psychiatric medication we check interactions, so please be sure to give us the medication information.
