Q. Can I stop using nasal steroid spray?

A.

Once nasal mucosa stabilizes with Korean medicine, spray usage can be tapered. Sudden stopping may cause rebound; taper in stages with the doctor.

📝 Detailed Answer

As it is an important question I will put it precisely. Please do not stop it on your own judgement.

Nasal steroid sprays are a well-established medication in allergic rhinitis. They act locally and are known to have relatively few systemic side effects, so there is no reason to avoid them simply because of the name 'steroid'.

However, reducing the frequency of use as symptoms improve is possible. That judgement must be discussed with the ENT doctor who prescribed it. Our role is to help with symptom management during that process.

Stopping suddenly often means symptoms return and you end up using it for even longer. If you tell us the medication you are taking or using, we take it into account in the prescription.
