Summary
Fourteen clinical studies on herbal medicine treatment for chronic cough lasting more than 8 weeks were systematically reviewed. The herbal medicine group showed an average 63% reduction in cough frequency with significant improvement in cough-related quality of life (LCQ) scores. The efficacy was particularly notable in chronic cough of unknown origin.
