Summary

A meta-analysis of 29 randomized controlled trials (total 2,268 subjects) evaluating the depression treatment effect of acupuncture. The acupuncture combined group showed a treatment response rate of 72% based on BDI (Beck Depression Inventory), demonstrating significant differences compared with the drug alone group (58%). The value as an alternative treatment was particularly confirmed in patients with difficulty in drug control due to SSRI side effects.
